Merry Yule and  Happy New Year.

This is the time we settle into the beginnings of the new year. We have started our resolutions or broken a few.  Since the last time I have blogged I have been a bit aloof, disconnected, and tired. I didn't realize it was August since I last been here.  I am sorry for that.  I don't write, if it doesn't feel right.  It's hard to believe it's been so long.  For the first time in months, two nights ago, I went outside and without warning I was grounded and an open currant, it felt amazing.  So I guess I will have to take it when I can.

My goal for this year is to get our apothecary kitchen up and running, and start a YouTube channel with instructional commentary on what spells we make from our Witchy kitchen. (playing with titles)'

Full Moon in August

This is weekend of the Full moon. I can't help but feel it's for my birthday. (which happened on the 23).  Even though I look out and see nothing but a cloud filled sky, the moon is full faced and smiling down onto me.  I know that sounds like my ego giving me delusions, but today I feel good, and I have learned as I get older that even if I will not feel good later, I should enjoy the joy while I have it.  

Fore weeks people had been asking me, "what are you doing for your birthday?" and saying, "Aren't you turning 40?, that's a big deal, you should do something." I had no formal plans. I had no formal ambitions. Anyone who knows me, knows my birthday is in a week the Minnesota Renaissance festival starts, and opens the week of the MN State Fair begins, my birthday isn't usually people priorities.  I've grown used to it*. 

*Not to be a downer, but that is my life.

So the morning of my birthday, on a last ditch effort to figure something out.  (was offered a sitter, so I thought, what the heck?*) 

* sitter fell through.

I saw on Facebook that Selena Fox was giving a class at the Circle Sanctuary, in Wisconsin, it was even close to Mount Horeb, the Troll Capital of the world.  It was 10:30 am, and it was a 4 and half our trip.  ( I could make it, but that was the reason the sitter fell through, they couldn't take Jerid till later in the day, so we took him with.)

It was on my bucket list to meet Selena Fox, go to Circle Sanctuary, and see trolls at Mount Horeb. 

So we packed up the car and made it to Circle Sanctuary, just before the class!

The class was about Teas and Tinctures, and how to make them.  I got to meet Selena Fox, and we stayed the night in Mount Horeb.  We drank coffee at the Crossroads cafe, and even got to see the trolls. 

This is, for me the full moon of possibilities, I really feel the energies of good things to come.  Blessings are in the air, breath them in, and give thanks for the lessons you have learned and life you have lived.

Summer fun

Had a wonderful weekend at the Dark Moon Coven coven stead in Sacred Heart Minnesota, at the annual Goddess Gathering. Hosted by Candy Ayres.   This years Goddess was Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love.  We spent the weekend meditating, learning new skills, and the essence of what Aphrodite was about, the way we love others and how we love ourselves.  Also embracing the inner goddess, and getting pictures taken, which is the tradition. 

I was so excited to have a life long friend of mine, who I've been trying to get out a goddess gathering for a few years,was able to be there one of the days. She got to meat new people and make new friends. 
That is what it is all about getting together and celebrating each other.

  On the flip side, Justin had at the Temperance Moon location in Carver, the God's gathering. Which was a success.  He and other men of the DMC got together and taught and learned from each other. They are also looking into starting up other events that will stem from it.  So we are looking forward to a rendezvous, and other events that are to be announced.

New Moon Blessings

Now is the time of the New Moon, it is now time to manifest what you want. Let go of what does not serve you and focus what you wish to receive. 

We are setting up to go to our annual trip to Sacred Heart Minnesota for the Hunter Gather's retreat.  It will be a hot weekend, but at least there will good weather.  This years get together will be smaller then other years, but I think that is good thing.  (not that the others that normally be there won't be missed.)  It is hosted by Candy Ayres, at the coven stead of DMC of MN.

Also have been gearing up for the Pagan Pride in Wilmer MN, in the fall. lots of Cleansing clothes and hats, and other warm things will be made.  If anyone has any ideas as to what you would like to see at a pagan pride, let me know, I can try. 

Question for the day, What are you willing to let go of, that doesn't serve you? What would like to see manifest in your life?

Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend is upon us and we are on the threshold of summer.  This is a weekend of reflection, family and friends. Memorizing those who have past and making new memories. Many take it as a time to remember the veterans and those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedoms. Some take it as a time to visit and clean the grave stones of family and friends who have their for us when we needed them. I can't but help think of this as a spring time Samhain.  It is also the week of the full moon. It is a time to reflect, remember, be active, and to manifest what we want to see for seasons to come.

Personally I have been taking to doing one card reading on Facebook, on a private page for DMCof MN and gaining the confidence to maybe do personal short readings, maybe start doing it public page. I'm still figuring out how all of that will work out. (keep you posted on that.)

This weekend we also had a few friends come out and help us with our garage cleaning. Helped us organize and clean in 94 degree heat. We are so very grateful for their help.

Mother's day and New Moon.

To all the mothers out there, happy belated Mother's Day! This is the week that brings us to today's Dark Moon.  With the Dark moon it is the time to let go of all that dwells in us that no longer brings us joy, and manifest what good we want to see in our lives.  This is a good time to forgive those old trespasses and let in the light, much like the moon will do in the next two weeks when we see the full moon.  That being said, we will be having a full moon ceremony and a potluck that weekend of the full moon, after we clean out our garage.  It's also spring.  I am loving the bright blue skies and the green on the trees, if feels like it's been forever since this has happened.  Also feeling blessed with every rain that helps the earth grow. 

Also would like to mention that I had the pleasure to go to Pagan Pride in Wilmer Minnesota two weeks ago.  It was so well done, they are also going to be holding an event in November.  I going to try to have more done to participate as a vendor by then. Not sure if my things would be anyone's cup of tea, but that's okay, I prefer to drink coffee anyway. (teehee)

Spirits of spring.

Mercury is no longer in retrograde, blessed be! Somehow I didn't get the memo when it was going into retrograde, I usually make an offering, to see Mercury off, to have a safe journey.  This whole year has been feeling a little off. I have also have been getting vivid dreams lately, and not to bore anyone with the details, I will just sum it up by saying it has a lot to do with Aquarius, and the transition. I have also been hearing about and feeling a lot of spiritual activity.

I've been trying to do some automatic writing to figure some of this out. Something I haven't done in years.  I have been getting messages of love and confusion. One thing that I feel that I should share is from a visitor at 2:30 am.  She was very insistent and wouldn't let up. So I will share it here.

 Everything has a spirit,every animal, every tree, every pebble, every river. Everyone who is connected through spirit and earth. Everyone has a path, some are are easy and some are hard, some are chosen some are by design. Our guides are what help us. Our guides can take any form, a rock, a tree, a river, an animal. Everything happened for a reason, everything comes from the choices we make. To acknowledge spirit, is to walk your path and to acknowledge and follow your guides is to do what the great spirit has intended you to do. To say that you can’t have a spirit guide that is an animal, because of blood line is to deny spirit all together.
